Grant of mark rights
A mark license for the PROVENANCE VERIFIED™ mark is a separate grant from a certification determination. The mark may only be used in connection with the specific certified item and determination to which the license applies. Mark licenses are granted only after a valid T4 determination has been issued by PV authority. Payment of the service fee does not grant mark rights.
Permitted use
The mark may be used in physical or digital form on or directly adjacent to the certified item. Use on marketing materials, websites, or catalogs is permitted only when it clearly and directly identifies the specific certified item. The mark must not be altered, combined with other marks, or used in a manner that implies a broader endorsement than the specific determination covers.
Suspension and revocation
A mark license may be suspended or revoked if the underlying determination is superseded by a lower tier, if material evidence is found to be fraudulent, if the item is materially altered, or if the licensee breaches these terms. Upon revocation, the licensee must immediately cease all use of the mark in connection with the affected item.
